What clientele do you serve?
Språkbolaget’s customers include companies, government agencies and organizations that want a stable linguistic partner, smooth work process and personal dialogue. We are a full-service translation agency, which means we can help you with all of your translation needs, regardless of whether they are annual reports, sales brochures or subtitling.

How do I hire you?
Send us your text and we will send you a price proposal in return. You may either contact one of our project managers directly via email or phone, our fill in our quote form.

Languages and services
What languages do you translate into?
We translate to and from most languages. Some languages into which we translate frequently include: Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Czech, Danish, Dari, Dutch, English, Estonian, Farsi, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian, Somalian, Sorani, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. If you cannot find your language in the list above, feel free to ask us.

What are your primary industries?
Språkbolaget translates and provides proofreading services for advertising and marketing texts in all industries, customer and internal magazines, financial reports, legal documents, technical texts, medical texts, IT texts, HR texts, management and community information. We also provide easy Swedish, easy English and audio-visual translations. We only work with companies.
 
Is there anything you don’t do?
We only work with companies. If you are a private customer, please visit the Swedish Association of Professional Translators’ (SFÖ) website at www.sfoe.se. We do not offer interpretation services.

Can I receive my translation in the layout?
Yes, send us your text in InDesign or another format and you will receive the translation in the same layout. We also offer additional DTP services if you want print-ready files in return. Specify this when submitting your order or quote request.

Can you take express assignments?
Yes, absolutely. We will do everything we can to ensure you receive the material when you need it. Contact us here. State when you need your translation and we will respond shortly.

Price and delivery time

What does a translation cost?
The price of your translation is based on a combination of different criteria including the text’s subject matter, level of difficulty, volume, source and target languages and deadline.
Translation prices are based largely on supply and demand. Some languages have fewer translators available in certain subject categories, in which case prices are higher than for languages and subjects with more translators to choose from. Some languages are more labour intensive than others, and the text may need to be culturally adapted to suit different countries. Upload your file here to receive a quote.

 
Can you provide contract prices and volume discounts?
Yes, absolutely. If you have regular translation needs with larger volumes, we are happy to give you a contract price. Contact one of our project managers here.

Do you charge extra for express delivery?
We charge everything from 10-100% extra for express delivery. Express delivery costs more because the translator has to interrupt other assignments and possibly work overtime in order to complete the assignment. Generally speaking, the process is fairly quick even when it is not express, so the charge may not be necessary. Upload your file here to receive a quote and a proposed delivery date.

How quickly can I receive my translation?
Delivery times primarily depend on availability of a suitable translator and the text volume. A good rule of thumb is to expect a translator to have capacity for about 2,000 words per day. Project management, proofreading and file handling are added in addition to the translation process. When you receive a quote from us, you will also get a delivery time. If you have a special deadline to maintain, please state this in your quote request and we will take it into account. Translation process and quality
What does your work process look like?
Our standard work process includes a translator who is a native speaker with specialised expertise in the relevant subject area, who translates and reviews his or her own text. After that, another translator will review the text once more. As our regular customer, you will be able to work with the same project manager and the same translator every time. We can set up specially adapted work processes and work flows for different types of customer projects. Contact us if you want to discuss your project with one of our project managers. Who will translate my text?
A trained translator who is a native speaker of the target language and specialised in the relevant subject area will translate your text, and another trained translator will review it, in accordance with our standard work process.
 
What qualifications do Språkbolaget’s translators have?
In order to work with us, translators must be trained in translation, translate into their native language, have a finger on the pulse of the evolution of that language, documented experience and excellent references. They must also take and pass our tests. We follow up our translators carefully and have developed a quality assurance system to help us choose the right translator for the right text.

How do you guarantee quality?
Språkbolaget guarantees the quality of all translations. We only hire translators who meet our quality requirements, and we have a documented work process that involves an additional review of all texts. If you are still dissatisfied with our work we will adjust the translation for free, based on all applicable comments, until it meets your wishes.
 
How do you guarantee confidentiality?
All of our employees, translators and business partners have signed a confidentiality agreement. If you want an additional confidentiality agreement, we are happy to sign it.

Do you offer authorised translations?
Yes, many of our translators are authorised by the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency. Contact one of our project managers here to learn more about availability.

What file formats do you accept?
We work with numerous different programmes and formats: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and many more. Ask us here!

Payment
How do I pay you?
We conduct a credit check of new customers before we begin a translation assignment. Our standard payment term is 30 days and we prefer to send invoices via email. If you wish to receive your invoice via post, then of course that can also be arranged. Large projects are invoiced in parts.

For translators and proofreaders
How do I join Språkbolaget’s team of translators?
To join our international team of translators, you must have a degree in translation or the equivalent for the languages you translate from, and you must translate into your native language. You must also have at least two years of professional translation experience, and you must work with translation via your own company. In addition, you need good and documented expertise in the subjects you translate. Send your CV to info@sprakbolaget.se.

We receive many applications, so we will not be able to respond to all of them.
However, we save all serious applications and will contact you when needed.
